Kalivia Pezulas is the first village in the mountains you will meet on your way to lake Plastira and placed at its lakeside. Transportation to Kalivia Pezoulas is covered by a new road network, constructed recently, in the summer of 2008. Therefore, timetravel from the city of Karditsa to the mountains is reduced to 25 minutes in a comfortable and safe road with good accessibility all year long. During the winter months the road remains open, because of the village’s role as an important activity center.

At Kalivia Pezulas you can find a clinic, a pharmacy, a bakery and dozens of restaurants. The central crossroad of the village is a point of reference to the neighboring villages.

How to get here

Please find below some recommendations on the best ways to reach the village and find Aeolides from the main urban centers through the mountain route from Karditsa to Lake of Plastiras’.

Route Athens - Karditsa

Following the highway “Athens-Lamia” and before entering Lamia you will find an exit to your right, with a sign “KARDITSA –TRIKALA -DOMOKOS”. This exit will get you to the motorway E65 (Section Lamia - Karditsa) through the mountain roads of Domokos that leads to Karditsa. After Domokos and before arriving to Karditsa you will drive outside the villages of N. Monastiri , N. Ikonio and Sofades.

You can then follow the ringroad of Karditsa overriding the town and follow the mountain route to lake of Plastiras’(see below).

Route Thessaloniki – Karditsa

Following the new national road “Athens – Thessaloniki” you will pass Katerini, cross the “Tempe” passage through the mountains and heads to Larissa. The recommended route of the Google map is no longer available because the recommended exit from the ringroad of Larissa is now prohibited. We propose that you enter the city of Larissa, following the first exit for Larissa( exit to E92 - old highway Athens-Thessaloniki). Then you will enter Larissa at the second or the third entrance to Larissa. At the entrance to Larissa will you necessarily go right and you will be perpendicular to a central road called “Iroon Politechniou”. At the first traffic light you will turn left on the road “Iroon Politechniou”. At a next traffic light you will find an exit to Karditsa.

You can then follow the ringroad of Karditsa overriding the town and follow the mountain route to lake of Plastiras’(see below).

Route Karditsa – Lake Plastira

It’s recommended to bypass the city of Karditsa and follow the ringroad of Karditsa.

Before entering the city of Karditsa at a traffic light you will turn left, following sign pointing to the Hospital of Karditsa. You must ignore any sign that says ¨ DAM OR LAKE OF PLASTIRA ¨. Once you reach the hospital (it should be on your left) you will keep on going straight ahead and you will get into the village of “Mitropoli” just for a while (the last village of the plain). Leaving “Mitropoli” and for the next 20 minutes you will drive through the mountain road. The first village you will meet is Kalivia Pezoulas .

At the crossroad you will turn left toward the lakeside road of Plastiras’ lake and you will find on your right the parking of “Aeolides”.
